The Clarion Investment Approach

Before accepting the management of a client's investments, Clarion seeks an understanding of their attitude to risk using a sophisticated questionnaire. Based on the belief that diversification provides better long term performance we operate a multi-manager approach utilising collective investments, thus enabling us to choose from the best of the best across a range of markets and asset classes.

This approach provides an opportunity for us as managers to mould your investments to best suit your objectives, making changes as opportunities arise. Over time, we aim to keep volatility to a level commensurate with your attitude to risk and, by careful investment selection, to generate superior returns.

We recognise that certain managers are better at generating returns in certain markets and sectors and look to create portfolios that blend the talents of the best management resources available in the market place.

Clarion adopts an approach of actively monitoring clients' portfolios, cutting out assets we believe are underperforming and making tactical asset allocation decisions to take advantage of the prevailing market conditions.

This approach to investment is applied across our entire discretionary client base and also to our "fund of funds" the EFA Clarion Portfolio OEIC, meaning that it can be accessed conveniently and tax efficiently across an array of products and platforms to suit individual client circumstances.
